Terms & Conditions

1-Purpose

These terms and conditions constitute a binding agreement between you, the customer, and the French Academy of Dance. By enrolling yourself or your child at the French Academy of Dance, you agree to comply with all the provisions outlined in these terms and conditions.

 

2-Policy
2.1 Enrolment and fees

-We offer an Introductory Classes Bundle for the first two classes of the Autumn term 2024. This allows dancers to experience the class, meet the teacher, and become familiar with the venue at a competitive price. Fees for this bundle must be paid in advance by the specified deadline.
 

-Fees are based on a 12-week term and must be paid in advance by the given deadline at the end of each previous term. If you join in the middle of a term, your fees will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis for the remaining classes.

-There is a one-time registration fee of £15 per dancer.
 

-All payments must be received within 14 days from the invoice date.
 

-All payments must be made via bank transfer.
 

-All invoice payments received will be confirmed by an email.
 

-Places in a class are only secured upon receipt of a full-term payment and completion of the enrolment form.
 

-We offer a 5% discount on the second class when a dancer signs up to more than one class for the term. Discounts are only valid when invoices are paid by the given deadline.
 

-Fees are reviewed termly and subject to change for any new term.
 

-Late payment of invoices may incur an administration charge. For more details on our late payment charges, please email finance@thefrenchacademyofdance.com
 

2.2 Absences and withdrawals

-In the event of a dancer’s absence to class, refunds cannot be made. We do not offer replacements for missed classes.
 

-Refunds will not be given to dancers who stop attending classes during the course of a term.
 

-Once you or your child have a place in a class at the French Academy of Dance, it is assumed that you or your child will continue in this class from one term to the next following the three-term academic year. If you wish to withdraw yourself or your child from the school, you must inform the principal in writing giving 6 weeks (half a term) notice. Please inform the principal by half term break if you or your child is not returning for the next term.
No refunds can be made on fees already paid.
 

- In the event of failure to give notice as described above, you will be liable for fees for any classes falling within the 6-week notice period from when notice is actually given. If no notice is given, you will be liable for the fees for the first 6 classes of the following term. The French Academy of Dance reserves the right to retain any paid fees in partial or full discharge of your liability for such fees and the costs of administration resulting from failure to provide the requisite notice.
 

2.3 Timetable

-The French Academy of Dance reserves the right to make changes to the timetable and to the teaching staff during the school year.
 

- In the event of a cancelled class due to teacher sickness, a health epidemic/pandemic, extreme weather or any other seen or unforeseen events, the French Academy of Dance will endeavour to reschedule the class. No refunds will be given.

 

2.4 Child Safety

- The French Academy of Dance endeavours to ensure that you, or your children are dancing in a safe and comfortable environment. You are responsible for ensuring that your child wears suitable dance outfit and footwear for the class and that your child does not attend any class whilst suffering from any illness, injury or other condition which may affect their safety or wellbeing, or that of any other child attending the class.
 

-You must inform the teacher if you or your child is suffering from any injury, illness or other communicable condition. The French Academy of Dance shall have the absolute discretion to exclude your child from the class in such circumstances and you shall have no right to any refund.
 

- We require you to bring and collect your child promptly and provide us with written details of any changes in drop off/pick up arrangements, your contact details or special medical needs.
 

- The French Academy of Dance teachers have the absolute discretion to require your child to sit out a class if they are disruptive and interfere with other children's enjoyment or benefit from the class. The French Academy of Dance reserves the right to exclude from further classes any children who is repeatedly disruptive in such manner.
 

- Children will not be allowed to leave the premises until they are collected.
 

- All children must be registered for the classes they attend.
 

- Filming and photography are not allowed except by permission from the teacher.
 

2.5. Injury

- The French Academy of Dance is not responsible for any injuries sustained prior to the beginning of classes. Given the physical nature of dance classes, dancers are exposed to a risk of injury. The French Academy of Dance and its teachers are not responsible for and shall have no liability for any personal injury or illness, save for any caused by their negligence. By enrolling yourself or your child you are certifying the enrolee is in good health and capable of participating in all of the classes for which they are enrolled.

2.6 Intellectual property

-All choreography and content created by The French Academy of Dance remains the intellectual property of the school. Any unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or performance of this material is strictly prohibited.

 

2.7 Uniform and Dress Code

-Students must adhere to the dress code specified for each class. Proper dancewear is essential for safety and effective teaching. The required attire for each class will be communicated upon enrolment. Long hair should be securely tied back; students with short hair should use a headband to keep hair away from the face. Jewellery should be minimal for safety reasons. Students may be asked to observe rather than participate if inappropriately dressed. A detailed dress code list will be provided separately.

2.8 Loss of property

-The French Academy of Dance does not accept any responsibility for and shall have no liability to you or your child for any loss or damage to property brought to or left on the premises.
 

2.9 Data protection

-By enrolling, you agree to the collection and use of personal information as outlined in our Privacy Policy. We are committed to protecting your personal data in compliance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

This Policy: We will update this policy occasionally. Any substantial changes that affect your rights will be provided to you directly as far as is reasonably practicable.
